Game 9: Fire and Ice Mafia

I've been doing some thinking. Honestly, even though Robert so rudely voted me, I don't think he's scum anymore. Both Robert and Julie seem too against each other and against others not to be town. If I were to vote right now, it would be on either Akina or Trixie, as I think they're scum. But by all means, lynch me. I'm not mafia.

This is scummy to me. Other people pointed out that reaction lynches usually end in an UL, but Tori never said that himself, he just kinda went with it. Anthony questioned his lynch, and then soon after Tori unlynches. He didn't explain to us that it was just a reaction lynch, he just says that he's a good guy.

That's taken completely out of context, way out-of-date, and technically was the right lynch has been explained. I most DEFINITELY explained that that was a reaction lynch.

Not quite, you are more scummy than Julie, so I would rather lynch you than Julie

Interesting. See, this is where my scumdar goes off. Everyone in the game at this point thinks I'm scummy, that's a given. However, Robert and Julie's little rivalry, if you can call it that, almost seems fake to me. If Robert's main scumteam suspicion is Julie and I, he shouldn't be opposed to lynching either of us -- unless one of us is his Fire Mafia comrade.

Game 9: Fire and Ice Mafia

Robert O. wrote:Tori these are the reasons why people think you are scum (well thats what I think anyway)

1.) Hard Tunneling with scarce evidence
"Hard Tunneling" is an exaggeration. I explicitly stated that I would be open to lynching either Bucky or Trixie, but that I felt Bucky was scummier. If the town's votes had leaned more towards Trixie, I would have changed my vote.
2.) Pushing a lynch when town already agreed not to
Pushing a lynch when town made a bad decision on not lynching.
3.) Barely helping town progress when you are fairy active anyway
I admit, I've been inactive for the past week. I've stated my reason for that. Apparently, though, providing reasons why YOU are scum doesn't count as helping town progress because you're the self-proclaimed savior of the town.
4.) Hiding/ignoring evidence so you can try and bring up something against someone else (mainly me)
When was this?
5.) The fact that the most likely scumteams are Tori + Akina and Tori + Julie. You are included in both of them so lynching you would be unlikely a mislynch.
First of all, Akina and I barely see eye to eye on anything. If we were a scum team, wouldn't we be trying to start a lynch on the same person? Second of all, the only reason for Julie and I to be a team is that we're both against you. Which is, surprisingly, a valid reason. I say surprisingly because in my opinion you haven't given any substantial evidence against really anyone yet.
I think I might have missed some...

My responses are in bold.

Tell me why you should, and I can give any number of points to refute your reasonings. At this point, because I was forced away for five days due to IRL obligations (sorry about that), I have a lot to read up on and thus wont be making a very big post until tomorrow or maybe later tonight.

Game 9: Fire and Ice Mafia

Robert O. wrote:Well yes but they are for 2 different things... (oh and also I have to divide it in the scumteam one so its not EXACTLY the same) one is for most likely mafia and one is for most likely scumteam. I dont get why its ineffective since its reflecting the fact that you are most likely maf and the most likely scum team is Tori + Akina which at the moment is pretty accurate. This system is not ineffective because this system is reflecting who town thinks is scum and who town thinks who is with who (aka scumteam)

I'm going to present two metaphors for what you're doing with this "system" of yours, and maybe it'll help you to understand why your system is entirely ineffective.

Metaphor 1

We're in a courtroom. The person on trial is guilty of a crime, but is trying to make the judge believe he didn't do it. The person on trial has "done some investigation of his own", and has presented a list of his own suspects. Then, the judge asks him, "Okay, so there's a chance all of these people committed this crime. How about you include yourself in there so we can get an unbiased opinion?" The defendant obviously knows he's guilty of the crime, but doesn't want to let the court know he's guilty. Why would he want to add himself as a suspect?

Do you see how ridiculous that is?

Metaphor 2

We're in a courtroom again. There's someone on trial, but this time, they're innocent. They've done investigating of their own, and have presented a list of people that they have reason to believe would have committed the crime. Then the judge asks the same question as above. The defendant obviously knows he's not guilty of the crime; why would he consider himself a suspect?

Again, it's a ridiculous question to ask because it shouldn't affect your scumreads at all. In essence, we're all town until proven mafia. Why in the world would you ask a townie to say that he himself is scum?

That's why your system is inaccurate. There's no such thing as an unbiased opinion in mafia.

Nope Smile

To be honest, the two systems are essentially the exact same, and you claiming otherwise is insane. I'll post my reads on everyone once I get a chance to, but I'm not taking part in a system that's inherently ineffective.

There you go. Looking at the game from a purely unbiased point of view, everyone has an equal chance to be scum. The only way it would work is if everyone didn't include themselves.

Why dont we do both and see how similar the results will be?

Tori + Trixie
Tori + Akina
Tori + Gulzar

Robert + Trixie
Robert + Akina
Robert + Gulzar

See why listing possible scumteams doesn't mean anything? Asking Julie to include herself in HER OWN list of scumteams wouldn't change her list at all, because if she's mafia, she wouldn't give a reason for town to lynch her, and if she's town, she wouldn't include herself as mafia due to the fact that SHE KNOWS SHE'S TOWN.

Jokes aside, why would you assume you don't know your role? I honestly don't see why anyone would give a reason to lynch themself.

To eliminate biasness, even tho they give out a possibility that they could be a scumteam, it still takes evidence and interrogation to make them look scum.

I don't think you understand. Asking someone to give a read on themself isn't actually possible. When you do that, you're asking them to claim. There's no being unbiased in mafia unless two people are accusing each other and you're a third person offering insight.

Wait technically this isnt a read. This is a scumteam possibility list. Like really this isnt claiming, this is just giving a possibility meaning it could happen, but it doesnt necessarily mean it is true.

We've got 6 people alive, right? That means there are 20 possible combinations of scum. And guess what? None of them include me. Because I know my role, and I know mafia isn't me. To someone not in the game, there are 30 possible combinations. But if you're in the game, and you know your role, and it's villy, you can automatically count yourself out from possible scumteams because you know you're not scum.

I dont understand how answering the question will help you proceed and not just be a waste of time....since if i was town or mafia, I would still say town.

But i will answer your question anyway...yes, I am town....

There we go. In this hypothetical situation, you yourself know you are town. 100%. There is no possibility of you being mafia because you know your role which is villy.

WHY THEN would you include a scumread on yourself? It's not being "unbiased", it's being dumb.

Your brain makes 0 sense.....

My main read on you was the fact that you have extremely scummy posts and generally scummy overall. My main read for ROMEO was him teaming with you...not my main read for you. (I did also after a while say that a Romeo+ Callister team was likely which turned out to be 100% correct like a baws) Heck I even explained why I thought you were scum and in a recent post, with whom you could be scum with. This shows me that you have been ignoring what I have been writing half the time and blindly accusing me.

As for my partner? Well I did say one, and romeo did too (Akina + Robert) which I have to say his reasoning was not quite true. Yes, I didn't want inactives to be lynched but at the time I didnt know Akina was gonna be an inactive until later. The evidence that can back this up is that AJ said that everyone is active and pretty much my first post said that no inactives should be lynched.

In conclusion....
1.) Read the thread properely
2.) You are still extremely scummy

So, what I'm getting from this is:
Because I make posts that seem scummy to you, I am now confirmed scum to you. Right. The only two real "scummy" posts you talk about are: 1, the post where I advise lurkers to go invisible, except I'm pretty sure AJ keeps taking me off invisible because every time I come back on my settings are changed, so that wouldn't have mattered at all, and 2, where I agree with someone else's points and give some of my own. Admittedly the lurker post is kinda scummy, but one scummy post != I'm scum.

Akina, the reason I find Robert extremely scummy is because yesterday, he was very hypocritical with his reads on me and really only had maybe one or two real points in a post full of otherwise meaningless sentences.

Also: Robert. Of course Julie's going to be biased when reading herself. She knows her role; even if she is mafia, just why in hell would she offer reasons to lynch herself?

Game 9: Fire and Ice Mafia

Robert O. wrote:Antony V., the Vanilla Townie, was frozen to death.

Victor I., the Vanilla Townie, was burned to death.

This is really messing with my head, (I even asked AJ if this was correct lmao). Castiller killed Anthony, but why? It would make MUCH more sense if this was the other way round. If castiller killed Victor then it would make sense because Victor was hunting for lurkers. And if Anthony was burned to death it would make sense (for me at least) because Anthony went against Tori (who I think is fire maf). But not only the fact that the lynches dont make sense. They are the most unusual kills (assuming you are killing the target for a reason) that could have happened. (unless there is another reason that I am unaware of, the fire maf reason is more of what I think but the ice maf is a legit reason) Any other combination would be less unusal than this one. It's like it was agreed on, they killed off each other's burdens, and not to mention, it was extremely risky. For example, why did fire maf decide to kill Victor when ice maf's best kill was Victor? (other than Romeo) Which means it would risk a no kill day. The exact same thing for the other side happened, making it even MORE unusual. So yeah I am really confused.

This reason actually isn't solid at all. Anthony's reason to vote me day 1 was literally "you're cute". To me, it just seems like you're scrambling to find any shred of a reason to suspect me.

Well I did post a scumread for everyone in the game so at least thats a start lol (It is weird how no one except Julie wanted to question me about it). Anyway, I am gonna put the Tori and Romeo thing on hold so I can try to help you guys decide who ice maf goon is.

I thought lynching a fire mafia would be our best decision today. However, now that I've got the time to think a bit more about it... Lynching Ice mafia would take down the nightkills to one, giving us a lot more time to figure out who is fire. Don't think you're off the hook yet though Robert, I'll remember you.
