honestly i just feel like this was an example of the realization that the partner (if scum) was being without a doubt lynched at the end of the day.

im not gonna argue on that because i know exactly where youre coming from and i admit that is something i might have done as scum. now you may call this wifom but i truly despise bussing and hence would have attempted to shift to jacuzzi if i were her scumbuddy. but disregarding that... at the same time you do have to consider that the wagon on her built up ridiculously quickly and as such i feel like its an obligation for any townie to immediately consider the possibility of scum being on the wagon having hopped on conveniently and anita actually being town.
i had already realised back then i might be called out for jumping on the wagon really late but it doesnt matter to me. everyone deserves a chance to defend themselves and to be given the benefit of doubt especially under the circumstances anita was in and that is why i waited for the defence before lynching. if she had offered a decent defense i wouldnt have lynched her. since she didnt i ended up lynching her and we got a mafia lynch out of it. its that simple really.
you do however raise an interesting point (or something i deduced from my interpretation of this situation? idk). there is a chance that her mafia buddy bussed on d1 to gain huge towncred which really helps in this setup since mafia dont get a kill for the first two nights hence making it "excusable" for widely townread players to survive longer.
meanwhile sanpei also mentioned his changing reads list... coincidence? i think not.
i need to debate over whether i should do a complete 360 on my reads or whether im actually just overthinking here honestly.

I mentioned already that Sanpei never got to elaborate on Horatio moving up on their scum list and that this could potentially indicate Horatio killing Sanpei for that purpose (hoping that we’d overlook it in favor of other possible motivations). never actually noticed sanpei mentioned horatio moving up but wasnt he widely scumread on d3? i think only one person didnt read him as scum and that would be rodman (if youre reading this please do explain your reads more in future since i believe youre town and thus it would be something quite helpful for us).
my townblock is rhyanna/penelope/rodman and hence im quite confident that at this point scum is among carl/horatio/kylan. im not yet sure which of them to lynch today but if my previous statement is correct then it matters little. and to be honest we should kill off the inactives first because at least carl will keep contributing and if rhyanna/penelope die this night were turning into game 28.
lynch horatio should have been the lynch yesterday, disappointed that you werent.

frankly i dont have the time for huge analysis but given the changing reads list sanpei was talking about horatio would have been unlikely to perform that kill specifically (which is my main reason for not hunting him again today for the time being) and rhyanna/penelope are still pretty unlikely to be scum given how much theyve contributed and pushed the anita wagon.
by poe that would leave rodman/carl/kylan. kylan would have been somewhat unlikely to kill sanpei specifically but i could see him do that. i consider rodman somewhat townie despite being really afk and youre not my biggest scumread pre-death but i could see you kill sanpei in case the person hed be turning on afterwards was you.

sanpeis death makes a lot of sense for the reasons penelope has pointed out. my assumption is that a widely townread player who is about to give fresh perspectives on the game is far more dangerous to scum than a simple locktown.
it also suggests to me that scum isnt on our current scumlist (which is iirc rodman/horatio basically).
im also gonna hate whoever is scum because that death means our activity is gonna be as shitty as 28's at this rate

Kylan R.(0)- one of the people i could potentially see threatened by reads being flipped upside down since he made very few posts and those are regarded as townie. did i mention stop lurking?

PJ: Neutral: he has done some town-ish things (e.g. such as make a wall post against Anita, suggesting that we should announce when we’re putting people at L-1 in the future and not wanting to waste discussion time) but then the Anita post saying she was partners with PJ is just pure WIFOM and I sorta just want to lynch him so we don’t have to bother with the huge WIFOM case...

Ian: Townread - I think he has a town-ish appearance and has good reasonings/basis's to lynch people/explain why he sr'd/tr'd someone etc.

I don't really have enough time to make a full reads post (but I just made a reads post on the people who currently had a lynch on them) but I'll try and post one later on.

the first part of his read on sanpei is bad reasoning imo because it made actual sense when sanpei flipped from wanting to keep penelope alive to lynching her and the second is pretty terrible given that its almost a necessity to troll early game.
he then proceeds to read jacuzzi as neutral but sets up a lynch on him which could very easily be followed out of pure wifom. while i indeed dont mind lynching him i nevertheless perceive that as scummy selfpreservation.
while ian flipped town he went to almost no depth in his reasoning so id go as far as saying that he was white knighting him.

thats about as far as i can go on horatio so ill move on to kylan.

kylan made a huge wallpost on jacuzzi intending to outline why hes scum but ended up townreading and not voting him, and made another one refuting what carl said, neither of which make me town or scum read him but he does seem to be putting in more effort than my other two lynch candidates for today at least. since he also didnt post much thats as far as i can go on him as well and ill go on to jacuzzi where i actually have something to work with.

jacuzzi made the first wall post on why anita is scum but was also the target of her mafia buddy claim with is obviously full of bad bad wifom. after said wallpost asks people to announce l-1 votes, then on d2 explains why he thinks horatio echoing him was scummy. however other than anita he never gave a lot of helpful reads or insight and other than a statement of "why would mafia be so obvious/bad" has lurked the entirety of d3.

my reads from town to scum:
rhyanna > sanpei > penelope > carl > rodman > kylan > jacuzzi > horatio

i see little reason to change my lynch at the moment and prefer horatio over jacuzzi atm. if town feels like jacuzzi is a better lynch then i dont mind given that i have been wrong once already.

what a letdown. i really feel like ian could have done better than just straight omgusing me there but i guess its what it is.
ftr im gonna be really busy today tomorrow and maybe even the day after but i hope ill be back with actual content. will probably revisit all of my reads again and see which of my reads i stated yesterday is most likely to be scum.
in response to penelope i do agree its subjective but idk if its site meta or my perception of time being bad but it feels like days go by really fast. either way i know im about to do very badly with getting my own posts out here in a timely manner so this is probably kinda hypocritical.

these are lesser reads than ian but jacuzzi horatio and kylan would be the next candidates id search for scum. out of these slots horatio and kylan are the most likely to be scum imo but i dont feel like making a detailed post today and hence why i would prefer going into it after finding out whether we win today by lynching ian. one thing at a time.

not gonna bother requoting the wall but if youre town then thatll be my own mistake. enough things happened today for me to get slightly different reads on some people (including new scum reads of course) which i will be happy to explain the next day as i said, and not today because you are my focus for now and if i update my reads now i might influence other peoples reads which i prefer them getting independently. (this is because i believe that whether its on purpose or not people do take inspiration from other peoples reads when posting their own and im trying to avoid this)

also i think our situations are different because in your case there is the chance that youre mafia with anita and you tried to shift off of her whereas that chance does not exist today with only one mafia remaining.

1. of course im eager to lynch you because youre my scumread. wanting to lynch your scumreads is a healthy sign of towniness. as scum i could just passively stand by as anyone who isnt me is lynched which would literally be the easiest fucking thing for me to do right now.
2. yes i can understand that lynching anita at the point that i did is not the most townie thing ever since it was unlikely to stop the lynch anyway but i could also have easily hopped on a counterwagon for anita to jump on and maybe try to avert her lynch since there were two lynches on jacuzzi.

Sure, I'm your scumread, and your only one. And when I flip town, where do you go from there? I wouldn't call this an omgus so much as covering all bases. If you were someone I veiwed as scummy enough, I would try to lynch you, but I don't see you as scummy enough to do so atm. I'm not going to just clear everyone else because I have one scumread that I'm going to tunnel on.

i never cleared the whole rest of the pl and it would be hypocritical of me to clear anyone right now after pointing out nobody is ever clear in this mode. yes youre my only scum read from when i made my reads post but im obviously not going to run around like a headless chicken if you flip town because there are other leads and i know what the hell im doing. scumhunting is iterative but reassessing other people can wait another day since mafia cant kill yet anyway. of course i would do so if someone gave me at least one compelling reason to do so but that hasnt happened yet and my scum read on you hasnt lessened hence keeping you as my lynch for today.
