Hello folks! Now that we've started, I figure we can just do this properly, after the usual d1 Bs ofc.

So I'd like to see what everyone's thoughts on me lynching Horatio A or Penelope C?

You don't just ask us our thoughts on you lynching people.

You lynch them, and then see what we think. God.

Asking us to "approve" your lynch seems like a scummy thing to do, no? It's as though you're mafia asking town what to do so you can try to fit in better.

Lynch Professor Jacuzzi, because using "Speak up, please" as a reason for a lynch when you're the fourth game-related post seems weird.

I was referring to the fact that you were using someone's inactivity as a reason to lynch them at a point where the vast majority of the players would have also been considered inactive (discounting confirmation posts). I will admit that it is fairly shaky reasoning, however (I'll likely remove the lynch soon in favor or a stronger read or to join the rvs).

Nowhere near as shaky as "Third is always scum" though.

Could you be more wrong? You literally just posted a long quote/paragraph where you called someone out for using inactivity as a lynch reason when most players were inactive too...

Saying "Third is always scum" is a way to start a new lynch via RVS on Day 1 that gives, actually, MORE reads (see lynching by avatar RVS). Lynching by inactivity when there were most inactives is flawed. And, honestly, I think you and The Rodman could be our scumteam now, just based on the way you shot down "Third is always scum" without logic.

"Third is always scum", to me, has always come across as a bad meme that I have seen used outside of RVS in attempt to turbo. In RVS, it doesn't seem to do its job (getting reactions) well because of the fact that it's so common and many people either dismiss it or have a predetermined reaction to it.

The thing that I was referring to as "shaky" wasn't inactivity, but my own reasoning for lynching Professor Jacuzzi (hence my saying that I'll likely lynch a stronger read soon). Inactivity itself is a great reason for a lynch in my opinion, just not when it's the very beginning of the game.

I agree that The Rodman's lynch was a thinly veiled bandwagon

Inactivity by itself is a bad lynch reason any time aside from mid game.

Honestly, I don't get this, and as much as I'd love to re-lynch you, I'd rather put some pressure on him right now.

So, why is "Third is always scum" a bad meme? Sure it's not fully-explained logic, but I'm pretty sure he's referring to the whole bandwagoning effect thing. And I've noticed with the player who's said that is that they're not really doing much or saying much, maybe because they're still in the whole "Day 1 Lynch-Happy" Phase, and that's no fun
