Re: Game 6: Black Flag Nightless
Well Areal, if anything, thanks for making the discussion of this game so lively. I can only imagine if I was on Game 7, that I would be reading Game 6's thread and wondering why I didn't get to play in an active game.

See you later Areal, hopefully you are alive when you wake up (in more ways that one)Areal I. wrote:oh yeah, I meant huromi. I'm tired.

I mean, if Mafia was being lynched they wouldn't waste their own time trying to give town pointers when to their mind they are already done.
Take a look at Game 7's Pietra - apparently she went on a rampage of posts right before her lynch
Yup, that's definitely true. Pietra went CRAZY with the posting, that was actually extremely impressive. That game is nowhere near as active as ours, though.
Re: Game 6: Black Flag Nightless
Yeah I actually remember at the beginning of this game (Day 1) I was posting coming back during a one hour bus/subway ride, and it was really cool to see people posting on the forum game real-time (considering that I was used to outside contact Mafia having sporadic posters at best, similar to Game 7)

Yeah Game 6 for the win - taking a look at https://psanon.forumotion.com/memberlist?mode=overall_posters is really impressive on our parts. The fact that 7 out of our initial ten players are in the Top 20 on the forum already rocks! Adding on to that, out of the three players that aren't in the Top 20, two were lynched already - so they couldn't have contributed that much anyways. So overall everybody in this game should be proud of what we have accomplished already!
Re: Game 6: Black Flag Nightless
I realize I sound like the game is already over when I made that last post - my apologies, I'll try to rein it back in haha. I just am grateful for being able to play with people that are actively participating!

Goodnight then!Areal I. wrote:oh yeah, I meant huromi. I'm tired.
Definitely seconding this. I feel bad for the 2-3 actives of that game, and I actually do wish they could have participated in a game that was active like this one (that would have been fun!)Jeanette C. wrote:Well Areal, if anything, thanks for making the discussion of this game so lively. I was even wondering if we could have like combined the two games at the very beginning (a super vanilla of sorts, maybe Ice Cream themed if we needed the game to proceed faster). Because having the games split into two definitely made it more likely for one game to be more active than the other.
Re: Game 6: Black Flag Nightless
Also, I should have responded to this but you know how lazy professors are at pushing back their responses:Areal I. wrote:BTW Jeanette, why do you have exams if you are a professor at Columbia?
Obviously I am administering the exams. Coming up with questions that mere undergraduates can answer is a lot of work, you know!

Dang, that's actually pretty cool! Definitely, everyone has contributed quite a lot; i'm pretty sure this game is likely the one with the most posts out of all the ones on the forums.

Definitely, it's fun to play with a lot of people, especially when they all participate. Hopefully, the lynch on Huromi goes through and he is actually a mafia, that would be awesome!
Re: Game 6: Black Flag Nightless
It would be a fitting end to the game since several of us have already started reminiscing!

Definitely, given that technically deadline wasn't announced, it should be possible for Huromi to still be lynched. However, if Areal is lynched, at least we wouldn't lose...
Re: Game 6: Black Flag Nightless
Oh, I think I also forgot to Request that the extension be granted. There we go.
Re: Game 6: Black Flag Nightless
Sorry guys, no extension, and the post-deadline votes won't be counted. (Sorry I didn't clarify this earlier, but if y'all want an extension, you should do so before the day ends.)

Re: Game 6: Black Flag Nightless
Merp. Well we saw this coming too late.
Heavily suspecting Huromi right now. But because there are only six players right now and there are two Mafia within us, then we should not hastily vote because scum can quickhammer once two votes are placed.
Wagging the finger of suspicion at Huromi

Re: Game 6: Black Flag Nightless
Crap, that sucks. One quick thing: If there are three town that all think each other as town, then there is no way for mafia to win... so given that Jeanette, Chaz, and I are town (I believe all 3 of us have townread the others in our read lists), it would technically be impossible to lose, correct?
I am also suspicious of Huromi, mainly due to the fact that the discussion did center on Huromi vs Areal, but also partially due to the large inactivity which was broken by a sudden vote on Satchel without much reasoning. I still don't have much of a read on Yuriko, and I can't read Duplica at all.

Re: Game 6: Black Flag Nightless
This may just be confirmation bias speaking, but Duplica's unvote on Bailey on the D1 lynch could have been an attempt to get Jeanette to unvote as well. I'm not completely sure, but that's definitely a possibility.
Re: Game 6: Black Flag Nightless
The rules of this Black Flag setup state that if the town is reduced to three members, they automatically lose.
Therefore, this is our very last day: if we lynch a scum we win, if we lynch a townie we lose.

Re: Game 6: Black Flag Nightless
Oh... alright well that is really bad then. We're at lylo.... In that case, I definitely agree with not lynching anyone hastily. I still think that Huromi is suspicious, and I wish Yuriko had posted more earlier so we could have now gotten a better read on her....Jeanette C. wrote:The rules of this Black Flag setup state that if the town is reduced to three members, they automatically lose.

@Jeanette: I don't see where it says that when town is reduced to three members, that they lose...ajhockeystar wrote:
RULES
• Do not bring outside influences into the game - this includes threats, bribes, wagers, promises, alliances, etc.
• Do not talk outside the game thread about an ongoing game except where allowed to do so by your role. Likewise, do not use bbcode to hide secret messages - this equates to discussion outside the thread.
• Do not edit/delete posts (if you have the permissions to do so). Note that this does not apply to moderators unless they are a player in the game.
• Do not quote communications with the moderator (in particular, your role PM). Paraphrasing is okay under normal circumstances.
• Do not talk after you are dead or replaced. I do allow contentless "Bah!" posts, but you should never reveal information once you are dead.
• Do not state nor imply who you are at any point during the game. All identities will be revealed at the end of each Set, please wait until then.
Follow all the rules of your Game Moderator. Game Moderators will be able to punish you with point deductions and/or modkills for not following their rules at their discretion (and admin regulation), so be warned. If you believe a punishment was unreasonable, PM me and we can calmly discuss it.[/spoiler]
Setup:
7 Vanilla Townies and 3 Mafia Goons.
When one mafia is lynched, the other two turn into lovers (essentially). That is the "Black Flag" part.
Nightless means there are no nights, aka the mafia can't kill.
@AJ: could you please clarify whether that part (when town is down to three, they lose) is true?
